SPECIALTY DOCTOR IN CHILD & ADOLESCENTPSYCHIATRY, WAKEFIELD

Airedale Health Centre, The Square, Fryston Road,Castleford WF10 3JJ

Permanent, full time, 10 Programmed Activities perweek (no on-call)

part time may be considered)

South West Yorkshire Partnership Foundation Trust arerecruiting for an experienced substantive Specialty Doctor to join the WakefieldCAMHS teambased at Airedale HealthCentre, The Square, Fryston Road, Castleford WF10 3JJ.

This new post will have avital part in ensuring our patients receive the care that they need and will bean integral role within the Psychiatry pathway.

Main duties of the job

supportive and experienced team. The postholder willwork in an experienced team of professionals, to ensure that all patientsreceive high quality care.

The teamcomprises of multitude of experienced professionals, who are looking forward towelcoming a new Psychiatrist.

You will be employed under the Specialty Doctor Terms and Conditionswith a salary within this payscale. Inaddition, our Trust grants an additional two days annual leave to SASdoctors with 7 years or more NHS experience at SAS grade.

Qualifications

Essential

- MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
- Fully registered with the GMC and have a licence to practise or be in a position to have a licence to practice on commencement in the post.

Desirable

- Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research or management.
- MRCPsych.
- In good standing with GMC with respect to warning and conditions on practice.
- Approved under S12 OR able to achieve with 6 months of appointment.
- Experience of working in NHS and CAMHS.

Experience

Essential

- Spent a minimum of four years (full time or equivalent) in postgraduate training in the UK or equivalent medical experience, of which at least 2 years in psychiatry
- AT least 6 month experience in CAMHS psychiatry.






- Excellent knowledge in specialty.
- Excellent clinical skills using bio-psycho-social perspective and wide medical knowledge.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
- Able to manage clinical complexity and uncertainty.
- Makes decisions based on evidence and experience including the contribution of others.
- Able to meet duties under MHA and MCA.
- Able to provide clinical leadership to a multi-professional team and liaise with a wide variety of agencies.
- Able to deliver undergraduate or postgraduate teaching and training.
- Participate in continuous professional development.
- Participate in research or service evaluation.
- Able to use and appraise clinical evidence.
- Has actively participated in clinical audit.






- Demonstrate emotional intelligence and leadership skills.
- Able to work flexibly and efficiently prioritise conflicting demands.
- Able to effectively manage time and resources within a team.
- Able to use electronic records.
- Commitment to annual appraisal and revalidation.

Desirable

- Wide range of CAMHS specialist experience relevant to post within NHS or comparable service
- Able to plan and deliver undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and training relevant to this post.
- Reflect on purpose of CPD undertaken.
- Experience in clinical research and / or service evaluation.






- Evidence of achievement in education, research, audit and service improvement : awards, prizes, presentations and publications.
- Has led clinical audits leading to service change.
- Demonstrate proactive leadership.
- Demonstrate problem solving skills.
