Job summary
Applications are invited for the above position on a full time fixed term, 12 month contract .
We are looking for a dynamic and motivated senior clinical fellow in General Surgery to join our friendly and supportive general surgery team at Stockport NHS Foundation Trust.
The post is ideal for surgeons who are planning an application for a national ST3 post. Many previous post-holders have had successful progression into ST3 national training numbers.
There is a strong focus on career development and professional support within a forward-thinking and supportive surgical department.
Main duties of the job
The post is aimed at those with previous experience of working in General Surgery at a senior trainee level. They will support in theatres, ward cover, HOT, on-calls, and clinics.
There are ample training opportunities. Trust grade registrars are allocated a consultant educational and clinical supervisor in a similar manner to Deanery trainees.
This ensures that opportunities for training are similar for both trust grade registrars and Deanery trainees. You will be encouraged to take part in clinical audit and research.
Each doctor is contracted to work 40 standard hours each week The rota is worked as a full shift rota and is worked as 1 : 9.
This includes prospective cover for annual and study leave.

If successful this vacancy will require an enhanced DBS check at a cost of £ This cost will be deducted from your first Trust salary.
In addition to this it will be a condition of your employment that you will join the DBS update service and pay the annual subscription fee of £13.
