Job description
The Consumer Insight Manager is responsible for supporting the consumer approach with the marketing, R&D; and sales teams, contributing fully to the innovation research plan by providing forecasts of consumer needs and new perspective for brand growth.
This role is the centre of the organisation playing a crucial role in the delivery of the financial performance of the business.
Key Responsibilities
1) Consumer Insight France
- In-depth market, trend and consumer analysis based on ad hoc studies (qualitative and quantitative) in cooperation with research institutes (insight, concept, pack, recipe and usage tests, U&A;, segmentation / profiling, exploratory research )
- Advising and supporting the marketing team in strategic decision-making on innovation plans and renovations, mainly linked to UK Innovation projects
- Putting in place analyses and visual aids for marketing teams to ensure that the consumer's voice is heard into all decision-making processes
- Contribute to the brand's innovation plans, including product reviews of packaging, positioning and competition
- Is responsible for the UK&FR; yearly CI budget
2) Consumer Insight Lead UK
- Improving business understanding of the UK consumer to feed into projects, brand strategies and selling stories
- Help improve brand equity and distinctiveness by providing insights into the effectiveness of comms and media
for example, MMM, Creative comms testing, evaluation of comms and media activities, comms tracking and insights, Brand positioning and health tracking)
Continuous insights
o Working with the category team to connect shopper insights with consumer insights
o Management of Bulbshare / other research platforms
o Providing ongoing and regular consumer insights on trends, population, changing consumption dynamics
o Collaboration across market and functional boundaries
Position Criteria
- A proven-track record experience (8+ years) in research companies (eg Kantar, Ipsos ), ideally working on food topics, with qual / quant synergies on an international scope
- An experience as in-house Consumer / Shopper Insights Manager is a plus
- Good knowledge of qual / quant methods and research companies’ expertise and skills
- Excellent story-telling skills, which include a clear call to action
- Self-motivated with an ability to stimulate an agenda
- Action-focused mindset with proven ability to deliver through others
- Proven ability to lead, challenge and deliver change in a matrix organisation
- Excellent communication and influencing skills with various locutors : R&D;, marketing, category management, sales
- Strong commercial acumen
- French & English Speaker
- Willing to Travel (to France notably)
- Organisation & flexibility capacity to work on several projects running at the same time and to prioritize
- Autonomy capacity to implement DIY in-house pieces of qual or quant research (questionnaire writing, interviews / groups moderation, data / content analysis and report writing)
- Strong project management skills
Compensation & Benefits
Compensation : base salary £53,300-£80,000 + Bonus + Car Allowance
