Quality, Compliance and Patient Safety Analyst
We are looking for a band 7 Quality, Compliance and Patient Safety Analyst to join our team. This post will sit within the Trust patient safety team within the Quality Governance department.
The team is part of the corporate team of the Trust with a main aim of coordinating functions that relate to quality governance and patient safety.
This is a new role within one of the largest acute care provider organisations in the NHS. The Quality,
Compliance and Patient Safety Analyst role will support the Patient Safety Learning Response Lead to provide Trust-wide oversight of all types of patient safety themes as part of the Trust's annually agreed Patient Safety Incident Response Plan (PSIRP).
The successful candidate will contribute to the development of systems and processes related to patient safety. To analyse and disseminate patient safety data and other clinical indicators to demonstrate status and project delivery.
The post holder will also work closely with the Risk System Coordinator to provide system support to ensure the effective design and operation of the Risk Management Database (Datix) - addressing problems, troubleshooting any technical issues
Main duties of the job
The key purpose of this role will include but not limited to :
o Supporting corporate teams with incident investigations
o Collation and presentation of safety performance, analysis of themes and trends
o Find innovative ways of supporting the organisation to learn from incidents and other safety related intelligence
o Development and delivery of training relating to patient safety and compliance
o Reviewing all safety information to gain better understanding of safety of patient care within the Trust to drive improvements
o Expertise in using Datix and work in conjunction with the Risk System Coordinator to support hospitals for queries and troubleshooting
We are looking for a motivated individual with recent experience of safety investigations, good knowledge of PSIRF, and experience in the safety and quality governance environment with an emphasis on patient safety, compliance, assurance and clinical risk.

- Educated to degree level or equivalent experience
- Specialist systems or IT knowledge and expertise acquired through degree level or equivalent qualification / training / experience

- Relevant post graduate diploma or equivalent qualification

- Recent experience in the safety and quality governance environment with an emphasis on patient safety / clinical risk and compliance
- Evidence of training experience and presentation skills, using a range of media to support governance and compliance.
- Specialist use of Datix or other automated risk management databases
- Evidence of experience of dealing with complex and / or sensitive information and unpredictable situations
- Experience of quality governance related reporting.
- Experience in interpreting national or local guidance and implementing logic to derive datasets and reporting to support said guidance.
Desirable
- Experience in a range of clinical environments
- Experience of delivery of education and training
- Experience of managing small or large scale projects or developments.
- Evidence of preparing and delivering organisational compliance with CQC regulatory / statutory governance standards.
