This is an excellent opportunity to join our Emergency Team and become part of the North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust.

As our new Deputy Sister / Charge Nurse, you will continue to develop further your skills and leadership confidence under the guidance of an inspiring team.

Hinchingbrooke Hospital has an emergency department and children's inpatient and outpatient services. The city is accessible by road or rail located within easy commute distance from London, Cambridge, Leicester or Birmingham.







Our amazing team will assist you in managing your daily duties and responsibilities while rotating between the Urgent Treatment Centre and the Emergency Department.

Our ED acts as a single point of access for all emergencies offering treatment to more than 100,000 patients per year. We serve a diverse population that is reflected in our workforce.

Teamwork and communication skills are essential. A multidisciplinary team formed of paediatric registered nurses, paediatric resuscitation specialists, nurse practitioners and advanced clinical practitioners will guide and support you.

Please note that we can only consider applications from individuals with a live NMC registration or UK nursing students awaiting their PIN, as we are currently unable to support OSCE.

Main duties of the job

We will offer you a £1,000 welcome bonus in recognition of choosing to join #TeamNWAngliaFT.

You will ensure the delivery of high-quality care for infants, children and young people who attend the Emergency Department in conjunction with the ED / Paediatric team, Clinical teams,





Matrons, Practice Development Team (PDT) and the wider Multidisciplinary Team (MDT).

You will support and guide the development of the team and services to ensure the delivery of high-quality care to our patients and their families while encouraging a positive patient experience.

As a leader, you will be a role model to junior staff members providing clinical supervision and support to the team. You will also, be supporting a multi-disciplinary team in different areas of the Emergency Care setting as required.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

- Registered Nurse (Child) / RNC
- PILS Trained
- 2 Years' experience working in ED or acute medical admission area






- Ability to comprehensively assess children and a working knowledge of Manchester Triage
- Teaching / Mentorship qualification or working towards
- PILS trained
- 4 years post registration experience

Desirable

- Degree in Paediatric Nursing
- Post registration additional courses ( HDU course)
- Completion of or working towards a leadership programme
- APLS / EPLS TNCC / ATNC HMIMMS

Experience / Knowledge / Skills / Ability

Essential

Sufficient experience in caring for the acutely unwell child and clinical skills including : o Cannulation / venepuncture o Competence in leading and supporting a team o Ability to work in a demanding and busy environment o Comprehensive applied anatomy and physiology relevant to clinical area.

o Ability to function as part of the multi professional team.







Good verbal and written communication skills.

Desirable

- Practical teaching experience formally or informally
- Link Nurse Role
- Participation in change management project
- Experience of audit and research in effecting change in nursing practice.
