Are you someone who has experience working with SEND children?
Are you looking for consistent part-time work?
A school in the BS7 area of Bristol is looking for a Learning Support Assistant who can work with an SEND child in their KS2 class on a 1 to 1 basis.
You will be joining an experienced and dynamic team of teachers and teaching assistants. This 2 form entry school is a wonderful place that has a curriculum that has been developed to support pupils’ curiosity and prepare them academically and personally for life.
The Role
As a successful candidate, you will be expected to work on a part-time basis, mornings only; 8 : 30 to 12 : 15.
As you will be working closely with 1 child who has ASD needs, the Head Teacher is looking for someone who has experience working with SEND children, someone who can demonstrate patients and has caring and nurturing characteristics.
You will be expected to :
- Work collaboratively with the class teacher to develop activities.
- Communicate well with the school SENDCo to gain a better understanding of the child’s needs.
- Have high expectations for the individual to succeed.
- Create a stimulating and purposeful environment.
- Manage and Support with the child’s needs.
- Assess and communicate the individuals’ successes and developments.
