Are you an experienced and passionate Spanish teacher looking for an extraordinary opportunity? We are delighted to present an exceptional position as Head of Spanish at a brilliant school in Brent.
This prestigious full-time role will commence in April, and we are seeking a dynamic individual who is dedicated to fostering excellence in Spanish education.
As the Head of Spanish, you will play a pivotal role in leading the Spanish department,
creating an inclusive and supportive environment for both students and staff.
Your expertise and exceptional leadership skills will serve as a source of inspiration and motivation for students to develop their Spanish language skills and cultural understanding.
Collaborating with a team of passionate educators, you will have the opportunity to design and deliver a comprehensive and engaging Spanish curriculum, ensuring that students are equipped with the necessary language skills and knowledge to succeed.
Responsibilities
- Provide strong and visionary leadership to the Spanish department
- Monitor and evaluate the quality of teaching and learning in Spanish
- Support and mentor Spanish teachers, fostering their professional growth
- Plan and implement initiatives to enhance students' linguistic and cultural competence
- Organize and oversee extracurricular activities related to Spanish language and culture
- Collaborate with colleagues on cross-curricular projects and initiatives
- Keep up-to-date with developments in Spanish education and implement best practices
- Monitor student progress and achievements, providing guidance and interventions when needed
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Specialization in Spanish or a related field
- Postgraduate degree in Spanish or Language Education (preferred)
- Proven experience teaching Spanish, preferably at the secondary level
- Strong leadership and management abilities
- Passionate about promoting Spanish language acquisition and cultural understanding
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to continuous professional development in Spanish education
