Chef - PPU Catering band 3 Bank
You will be required to cook as part of a team of chefs, freshly prepared food using fresh ingredients for the private patients.
We are seeking applications from qualified, experienced chefs who can demonstrate practical experience and knowledge of allergens and nutritional content and have experience of working in a busy production kitchen.
Working within the rota you will also need to be able to demonstrate supervisory experience, confidence, and ability to deputise for the Senior Chef as and when required.
Experience as a Chef is important, but attitude and finding the right 'fit' comes first for us.

Royal Free Private patients' unit is managed by the PPU Catering department,
Our team consists of 20 staff which include the chefs front of house and the kitchen porters.
We prepare freshly cooked food using the finest ingredients and deliver a high level of service. It's the small touches that patients expect in PPU, an experience that reaches the standard of a five-star hotel.

Job responsibilities
The Chef will be responsible for food production, with minimum waste, for staff, Patients, Visitors, special functions, in the restaurant kitchen, patient kitchens, pop-ups or any other RFLPSL contracted service area as assigned.
As part of the catering team, working under the direction of the head chef, in collaboration with other chefs and catering staff.
The role will involve preparing meals from scratch, using raw ingredients and following the prescribed cooking methods.
Adhering at all time to food safety regulations, health and safety, client and company policies
The successful candidate will have a background in food preparation and cooking, and will have a strong knowledge of food hygiene principles and commercial experience.
You will also need to be self-motivated and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
