Job summary

UCLH has a world class cancer service and is one of the largest stem cell transplant and CAR-T centres in Europe. We are very excited to be further expanding our service into Oncology and we are seeking maternity cover for our Assistant Quality Manager to help maintain our quality management system, including assisting with setting up trials and helping with the preparation for external audits and inspections.

The post holder should have excellent IT skills, be well organized and methodical with good communication skills. On the job training for Quality Management software will be provided.

Main duties of the job

Applicants with backgrounds in clinical trials,





or experience of working in a clinical or research laboratory environments are welcome to apply.

The post holder will work in direct support of the Quality and Service Improvement Manager and other members of the quality team including the Quality Manager for Cellular Therapies and the Quality Manager for HSCT.

The role will also include working with the wider cancer management team to ensure that service objectives are achieved in a timely fashion, in line with Trust Priorities and prevailing best practice or accreditation, licensing or regulatory requirements.

Person Specification

Knowledge and Qualifications







Essential

- Educated to a degree level or equivalent.
- Relevant training or experience in quality management.
- Knowledge of the NHS or other healthcare system(s).
- Knowledge of governance processes incident management & risk assessment.

Desirable

- Knowledge of clinical aspects of Stem Cell Transplant or Cellular Therapies.
- Familiar and competent with research methodology and clinical audit.
- Q-Pulse Administration.

Experience

Essential

- Experience of supporting internal and external audits
- Experience of supporting education, development and training
- Experience in compiling and implementing policies and procedures that support service improvement.

Desirable

Experience in a regulated healthcare setting,





at least 1 year of which has been in a quality or project management capacity

Skills and Abilities

Essential

- Able to prioritise and manage own workload
- Able to work collaboratively and effectively with others at all levels
- Good problem solving and time management skills
- Able to collate and analyse complex information and produce reports and presentations for a wide variety of audiences
- Proficient in the use of IT, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, internet and email.
