Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen, and we are currently seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Senior Assistant Technical Officer to join and support our busy team in the Pharmacy Department at the Whittington Hospital.
The candidate must have good customer service and interpersonal skills, communicate well, and demonstrate the ability to prioritise and organise work to meet deadlines.
The candidate should have previous pharmacy experience and hold an NVQ Level 2 Certificate in Pharmacy Services or equivalent qualification.
You must have GCSEs in both Maths and English at Grade C (4) or above, or equivalent.

Main duties of the job
They will support the provision of pharmacy services across the Trust, and provide a professional, efficient and customer focused service following agreed departmental policies and procedures.
The post holder will be based in the dispensary, assisting the Senior Pharmacy Technicians, rotational assistants, dispensing medications to wards and other areas.
They will also be carrying out ward top-ups, dispensing controlled drugs using the electronic Omnicell cabinet. The post holder will also be responsible for training junior staff and liaising with all health care professionals regarding medicines.
The post holder will be assisting the Senior Technician on the management of the daily activities in the dispensary ensuring the dispensary is running efficiently.

- Assist the dispensary manager in oversight of dispensary services.
- Supervise and allocate as appropriate, the workload of the rotational assistant technical officers, in dispensary.
- To assist in the management of all aspects of the main dispensary.
- The post holder should hold a Pharmacy Dispensing assistant qualification or equivalent.

- Underpinning knowledge to standard required for NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services or other equivalent qualification
