What is the opportunity? Your responsibility within this role will be driving the design, implementation, management, and ongoing governance of the UK Consumer Credit Act (CCA) regulated lending proposition for Wealth Management Europe (WME).
As part of the Credit Portfolio Management team, you will work alongside the broader Credit team, Group Legal, Compliance & Group Risk Management to assess clients’ product requirements, to manufacture product solutions that meet those requirements and to ensure adherence to CCA regulations.
This will involve understanding and interpretation of the regulation, product design, client journey design,
credit documentation reviews and implementation of Vulnerable Client and Consumer Duty considerations. What will you do?
Work closely with the broader Credit team, Compliance, Legal, Supervision & Oversight and other key RBC partners in identifying, designing, structuring, documenting delivering and monitoring CCA regulated product solutions.
As required, liaise with WME Client Facing Professionals to understand their client lending needs.
Ensure effective collaboration between teams including Credit, Compliance, Supervision & Oversight, Legal, Compliance locally and globally as well as broader WME units.
Be a culture carrier across Credit for all aspects of the Leadership Model.
Advise the Credit business and other teams internally on CCA regulations and its application to new and existing credit products through a commercial lens.
Identify and implement opportunities for improved business operations, partnerships, and client satisfaction.
Ensure continued alignment of the credit portfolio with Wealth Management business and risk strategies and risk policies and procedures.
Actively participate in and contribute to strategy development. Work with leadership across Global Products and Strategy team to contribute to the growth / development of the Credit book.
What do you need to succeed? Must-have
Must have excellent interpersonal, investigative and problem-solving skills.
Deep knowledge and experience of the UK Consumer Credit Act regulation and lending products, with ability to provide a commercial viewpoint.
Experience in implementing and writing policy and / or procedures and / or designing processes.
Conversant with economics, commercial and regulatory parameters and governance frameworks associated with manufacturing and distribution of Credit products and services in the UK.
Keen interest in innovation, managing and launching digital / digital-first Banking / Credit propositions in the UK / other relevant markets.
Understanding of lending products and services relevant for Mass Affluent customers in the UK / other relevant markets.
Nice-to-have
Experience in developing customer value propositions and conversant with associated capabilities such as customer insight generation, competitor analyses, segmentation, pricing etc.
