Job summary

An opportunity has arisen to recruit 2 (Two) CAMHS Clinical Specialists to the Lambeth CAMHS Spring Team (Tier 2 generic) for a permanent contract.

The post holder(s) will carry out initial assessments and offer treatment according to their clinical and professional back ground and training.

It is important that the successful candidate has substantial experience of working with children and young people with complex mental health difficulties in a CAMHS setting.

CBT training is essential.

Main duties of the job

Participate as a multi-disciplinary team member in thesetting and reviewing of therapeutic aims, objectives,





standards and strategies to provide a high standard of care to clients and their families

Assume responsibility for own case list and case management of children, adolescents and families who are determined to be at mild to moderate risk

Undertake all duties in line with the professional Codes of Professional Conduct, and maintain professional registration requirements for the post according to discipline / profession.

You will manage your own caseload and work within a team but will have freedom to act within the service framework and Trust operational policies

Job responsibilities

The post holder will have responsibility for assuring the quality of clinical practice with specific reference to evidence based treatments within the team.

You will hold responsibility for ensuring that all team members participate in audit,





evaluation and research in evidence based treatments.

The post-holder will have a therapeutic caseload, offering therapy to children presenting with mild to moderate mental health and behavioural difficulties.

You will also be working the parents / carers offering them support and guidance. You will have the ability to deliver a range of interventions for children and young people.

You will manage your own caseload and provide specialist support to families with complex presentations and to the services Band 6 CAMHS practitioners

You will be responsible for ensuring that staff, within the team achieve, positive clinical outcomes for children, young people and their families and that these are evidenced by performance indicators such as activity data,





targets and quality measures.

You will work in partnership with Children's Social Care, Education, Child Health, and Adult Services and other key partners to support integrated practice and service delivery.

Person Specification

Qualification

Essential

- First level qualification in OT, social work, First level nursing qualification / registration RMN or RSCN or HV or equivalent with related CAMHS experience or First level qualification in art, play, drama or music therapy with related experience in the psychological aspects of caring for children and adolescent with mental health problems / needs, developmental / learning disability problems.
- All applicants will require professional registration with a statutory body : ACP or UKCP, the Nursing Midwifery Council,





Social Work England, Health Care Professional's Council, Chartered Clinical Psychologists by BPS.

Desirable

- Training in CBT / DBT, EMDR, Positive Behaviour Support, and experience of providing therapeutic intervention using these models
- Management and / or leadership training; Experience of supervising others and / or training.
- Doctorate or Masters level qualification associated with child and adolescent mental health child psychotherapy, clinical psychology, family therapy, or equivalent.

Experience

Essential

- Experience of providing CAMHS interventions in group, individual and family work, multidisciplinary work.
- Experience of working as a case manager, coordinating care in child and adolescent mental health service






- Evidence of good practice conducting child and adolescent mental health assessments, assessments of behaviour and performance, and family functioning.
- Evidence of Advanced skills in the assessment of risk and management of risk factors.

Desirable

- Proven ability to engage therapeutically with a hard to reach client groups, using a range of therapeutic interventions.
- Working with families in a multi-racial urban environment
- Experience providing therapeutic interventions to neurodevelopmentally diverse populations and Experience conducting ADHD assessments
- Experience working with or providing Parent supports or parenting Intervention(s) Incredible Years, NVR, CUES, etc.

Knowledge

Essential







- A good working knowledge of mental health disorders in children and adolescents across all ages
- A good working knowledge of assessment of risk and management of risk factors

Desirable

Relevant research and its application to assessment, treatment and case management of CAMH disorders.

Skills

Essential

- Proven ability to engage therapeutically with the client group, using a range of therapeutic interventions.
- Basic IT and data entry skills
- Demonstrate an ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Proven ability to be 'reflective' in therapeutic practice and adapt practice from this reflection

Desirable

- Proven ability to work within a changing environment
