The Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to join Compass new Mental Health Support Team working with Children, Young People and Families (CYPF) with a particular focus on supporting CYP who are not on roll at school.

You will also support education settings and partners to help re-engage CYP with their education through Whole School / Community Approaches.







The role will work alongside colleagues to develop Compass Wave 12 MHSTs, building positive partnerships with education settings and other CYPF services to drive highly effective and CYPF focussed mental health and wellbeing services in line with the national MHST operating framework;

supervising and innovating with practitioners and colleagues in the service.

Main duties of the job

Compass Birmingham MHST (Wave 12) is a brand new early intervention and preventative mental health and emotional wellbeing service.

The service delivers evidenced based interventions for children and young people with mild to moderate mental health needs.

The service is part of the national MHST Programme, which has been commissioned following the Transforming Children and Young Peoples Mental Health Care Provision : A Green Paper (2017).

The Person

You will be a values-driven (integrity, valuing each individual, solution focused, consistent and reliable) individual with a passion for supporting children,





young people and families mental health and wellbeing. You will also have :

- Core professional and / or clinical qualification ( EMHP, CWP, PMHW, nursing with specialism in mental health or learning disability nursing, Occupational Therapy, Social Work)
- Senior Wellbeing Practitioner, Post Graduate Diploma or willingness to undertake.
- Two years post qualification experience of working therapeutically with children and young people , as an EMHP / CYP-IAPT practitioner

Qualifications

Essential







- Core professional and / or clinical qualification ( EMHP, CWP, PMHW, nursing with specialism in mental health or learning disability nursing, Occupational Therapy, Social Work) and must be committed to maintaining registration if applicable
- Senior Wellbeing Practitioner, Post Graduate Diploma or willingness to undertake.

Desirable

- Post Graduate Certificate in Supervision (EMHP supervisor course)
- Evidence of continued professional development
- Management / supervision training
- Therapeutic post graduate qualification or equivalent experience ideally in low intensity CBT.
- Post Graduate qualification in a relevant discipline
- Mentorship qualification

Experience

Essential







- Two years post qualification experience of working therapeutically with children and young people , as an EMHP / CYP-IAPT practitioner
- Experience of line management and / or delivery of clinical supervision
- Experience of working in a community and / or educational
- Experience of effective engagement with CYPF
- Risk assessment and management in the delivery of clinical services (including safeguarding)

Desirable

- Experience of leadership within Children and Young People clinical service areas
- Experience of providing mentorship
- Experience of organising team duties
- Experience of inducting staff members
- Experience of working in a community and / or educational environment
- Experience of working in a skill mix team

- Due to the nature of the role there is a need to travel to individual schools, which will require a driving license and access to a vehicle (for individuals who cannot drive due to a disability, we can consider accessibility options provided via Access to Work etc).
- Ongoing commitment to maintain registration in core profession

- Ability to analyse, evaluate and rationalise data and enable progressive models of delivery and intervention
